Cross-Border Collaboration: VIP LATAM Bootcamp Tackles Sustainability Challenges

The third International Bootcamp of the Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) LATAM Cluster brought together over 70 academics and students from Chile, Colombia, and Peru to address sustainability challenges at the rural territorial level. Participants collaborated in real-time, guided by experts, and presented their solutions to an international jury, highlighting the value of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary work. Faculty leaders from participating universities emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering collaboration, problem-solving skills, and connections across disciplines and regions. Professor Edward Coyle, Director of the VIP at the Georgia Institute of Technology, noted that these regional bootcamps provide innovative practices that could benefit other universities globally. Bootcamp participants also expressed how the experience improved their confidence in professional interactions and enhanced their ability to exchange diverse perspectives.
