Real-Time Data Analytics for the Assessment of Pathologic Patient-Ventilator Interactions.

Real-Time Data Analytics for the Assessment of Pathologic Patient-Ventilator Interactions.

Goals

This project focuses on the development of a scalable and low-cost data acquisition and analytics environment to advance capabilities for informed decision-making of patients on mechanical ventilation in the ICU

Issues Involved or Addressed

The project involves the development of a generalizable peripheral interface for secure, wireless transmission of de-identified physiologic waveform data from a mechanical ventilator to a data repository as well as the development and validation of signal analysis and event capture tools to allow quantitative analysis of de-identified ventilator data. Students will deal with real patient data analysis, design new analysis algorithms, optimize data collection protocols, and correlate data with patient health and condition.
